This weeks blog, I decided to write about a current event that really hits home to me. This is the retirement of the "Greatest Of All Time" Peyton Manning. Manning has been my favorite NFL player since I was born in 1996. I was born into the birth of football in the state of Indiana. Football I strongly believe would have not hit Indiana without the placement of Peyton Manning in the state and most importantly in the horseshoe and blue of the Colts organization. Peyton put football a special place in my heart, where I can honestly say I love football because of him. Peyton has been a role model in the state as well with the major payments he has given to Methodist hospital where it is now named after him, in gratitude. Peyton has been a role model and will continue to be as I continue to grow into the adult, I am becoming. Manning is the reason I played football in high school, from watching all his years in Indy and than to Denver. As Manning announced his retirement, a part of me felt lost. I do not know what the NFL will consist of with Peyton not under center every Sunday, and honestly I wish I would never find out, but unfortunately Father Time is undefeated. Peyton you will be deeply missed, and I want to say Thank-You for everything these past 18 wonderful roller-coaster years.

The Barn
This week I just want to keep my viewers (if any) on an update in my life. Currently the main thing going on in my life is the restoration of a barn we recently discovered. Well, it starts off with my church Southeast Baptist Tabernacle. The church recently just purchased a house and its large amount of property, from one of the neighbors. The man is growing old, and decided to sell his property to the church for a bargain of a price, while he spends his time now in a retirement home. The property includes the house, a large yard and at the back of the yard a two-story abandoned barn. The church bought the house as a way to shelter missionaries when they visit and give a nice play to stay. Well, there are currently no plans for the barn scheduled. So, myself and my best friend Matt went to the barn to take a look. It was beat-down about as far as it could go. We climbed to the upstairs and found a big room. The corners are a place not to stand with many holes, but the rest of the floor is dirty but in decent shape. If you look up on the wall there is an old basketball goal nailed to the wall. Shooting on the goal makes you feel like you play for the "Hickory" team from the famous sports movie, "Hoosiers." Matt and I have agreed to take the project on hands on and totally restore the upstairs into a decent basketball court, where the floor will hold up. This past Saturday we cleaned most of the floor up, where the vintage wood is being shown now. We now know what we working with in terms of repairing the floor. We planned to put some laminate down on the wood and make it look like a nice court. Much like "Airbud" found a secret basketball court, we did as well. The project will be hard but we have a vision, and will not stop till we get there.
